Publish to Wix
Creates and publishes a draft post via the Wix Blog API v3. Body content is sent as plain text (Wix's rich-content format is proprietary) -- richer formatting needs manual touch-up.
How it works
Uses the Wix Blog API v3 with a site-level API key. Wix stores content as structured "Ricos" rich content rather than HTML, so posts are created as a draft and then explicitly published.
Before you start
- A Wix site with the Wix Blog app installed
- A site-level API key from Wix's dashboard (Settings, then API Keys)
- Your Wix Site ID, shown in the same settings area
Setup
Three steps to connect
Step 1
Get your api key
Wix dashboard -> Settings -> API Keys -> Generate API key, with Blog permissions.
Step 2
Enter your site details
- Wix Site ID *Wix dashboard -> Settings -> General Settings -> Site ID (also visible in the dashboard URL).
- Author Member ID *Wix requires every post to have an author member -- find this under Contacts/Members in the dashboard.
Step 3
Connect and publish
Once connected, approved posts publish straight to Wix automatically. No export, no import, no copy-pasting into a CMS. Setup runs from your own client portal, so credentials for Wix stay with you; the agency never has to hold or request them separately.
Troubleshooting
If something doesn’t connect
Connection test fails with an authorization error
The API key must be scoped to this specific site. A key generated for a different site in the same Wix account won't authenticate.
Posts show up with plain formatting only
Wix's rich-content schema (Ricos) is proprietary, so custom embeds or advanced blocks aren't mapped one-to-one. Standard paragraphs, headings, and links do carry over.

No. A site-level API key from your Wix dashboard is enough. No OAuth app or review process.

They're created as a draft first, then explicitly published in the same step, so there's no stuck-in-draft state to check.
Credentials are encrypted at rest and only ever used server-side to publish. Nobody, including us, can view them again once saved.
Nothing changes on Wix itself. Everything already published stays exactly as it is. New posts just stop syncing until it's reconnected.
