Before you start
- A HubSpot CMS Hub or Marketing Hub plan with blogging enabled
- A Private App created in HubSpot with CMS blog read/write scope
- An existing blog in that HubSpot account
Setup
Three steps to connect
Step 1
Get your private app access token
Settings -> Integrations -> Private Apps -> create one with cms.blog_posts scopes.
Step 2
Enter your site details
- Blog ID *Content Group ID of the target blog -- Settings -> Website -> Blog, or the CMS API's /content/blogs endpoint.
Step 3
Connect and publish
Once connected, approved posts publish straight to HubSpot automatically. No export, no import, no copy-pasting into a CMS. Setup runs from your own client portal, so credentials for HubSpot stay with you; the agency never has to hold or request them separately.
Troubleshooting
If something doesn’t connect
Connection test fails with a 403
The Private App's scopes need to explicitly include the CMS blog permissions; a token created for a different purpose (like CRM-only access) won't have them.
Connection test fails outright
The CMS Blog API isn't available on HubSpot's free CRM tier alone; it needs CMS Hub or Marketing Hub with blogging enabled.
